Museum
MUSEUM OF THE LAKE
Lake Nabor Carrillo,
State of Mexico, Mexico

As part of the renovation planned for the Lake Texcoco Ecological Park, a Museum of the Lake will be suspended in Lake Nabor Carrillo. A system of wharfs and promenades will surround the building, whose location lends itself to giving visitors a variety of views of the aquatic surroundings.

The museum will be supported by five concrete structures embedded in the lakebed. The façade uses blind walls and lattice windows to generate contrast between solid walls and empty spaces. In addition to the building, the project includes designated areas of the park for outdoor activities such as canoeing, sail sports, mountain biking, and nature walks. Thus, users find themselves in a social space (the museum) surrounded by a natural space (the lake).

Recreational water activities that are virtually impossible in the city will be offered around this floating museum.
