IÑAKI ECHEVERRIA

Architect and landscape urbanist who holds a master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation as well as a professional degree from Mexico’s Autonomous National University. He is a member of Mexico’s CONDUSE expert sustainability panel as well as a fellow at the Colegio de Arquitectos de la Ciudad de México.

 

Echeverría serves on the faculty at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, as well as at the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Aedes Network Campus Berlin; he has additionally served on contest juries and as an invited speaker in Mexico, the United States and Germany. His work has been published and shown at the Venice Biennial and in Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Stuttgart, Lisbon, Turin, Durban, Shanghai, Beijing, Philadelphia, New York and Mexico City.

 

His namesake firm, founded in 2008, has won numerous high-profile commissions, both private and public, such as the Parque Ecológico Lago de Texcoco (35,000 hectares), the Parque Atlacomulco, the Museo Papalote Verde children’s museum in Monterrey (Mexico) and the architectural image for Liverpool department stores.

 

His multidisciplinary focus provides unique, specific solutions to complex conditions, in everything from recovery projects, environmental remediation and territorial strategies to landscape and urban design, architecture and project production. His practice extends research he undertakes in design process, design concept and art installation.
